How to report a bug, request a tool, or point out something that is out of date about Chrome Extension Tools.

Email

The quickest route is email: hello@chromeextensiontools.com.

Please note this address is a best-effort contact point for an independent side project, not a support desk with a response-time guarantee.

What is most useful to include

If you are reporting that a tool gives the wrong answer, the most useful thing you can include is the input that produced it — the manifest text, the store link, or the first few bytes of a file header. For a CRX, the format version and the error message is usually enough; please do not send whole extension packages.

Common things to report

  • Out of date information. Chrome's extension platform changes regularly. If a guide describes behaviour that no longer matches the documentation, that is a real bug worth knowing about.
  • A download that stopped working. Include the extension ID and the error you saw. Google's endpoint can change, and knowing which IDs fail helps.
  • A validator finding that looks wrong. False positives are the worst kind of bug for a checker, because they teach people to ignore it. Include the manifest field and the message.
  • Accessibility problems. Keyboard traps, missing focus, or a screen reader that does not announce a result are all worth reporting.
  • Tool requests. Requests are welcome. Adding more Chrome-extension tooling is the goal; general-purpose file converters and calculators are deliberately out of scope.

What we cannot help with

This is an independent project with no connection to Google. We cannot help with Chrome Web Store account issues, listing reviews, or anything else that has to be handled by Google directly.
